What is Keyboard Tester?
Keyboard Tester lights up keys as you press them on a physical keyboard, so you can verify detection, track tested keys, and spot gaps at a glance.
Switch regional layouts and desktop, laptop, or Mac keyboard types to match your hardware. On-screen taps are ignored—only real key events count.
Use it to troubleshoot sticky or silent keys, check a new board, or confirm that Chinese-compatible mode still maps to standard physical QWERTY.

Troubleshooting
When a key does not highlight
Try another browser, reconnect USB or Bluetooth, check OS keyboard settings, or test on a second device before assuming the switch is broken.

Pick Desktop for a full cluster with numpad, Laptop for compact rows, or Mac for Command-style modifiers so the diagram matches your hardware.
Chinese-compatible layout
Chinese-compatible means physical QWERTY
Chinese input typically uses a standard physical QWERTY board plus an IME. The Chinese-compatible option mirrors that physical layout—not a separate character grid.
